Lashing straps, also known as tie-down straps, consist of a strong polyester webbing combined with a tensioning element such as a ratchet and often hooks for attachment to lashing points. They are available in different lengths, webbing widths and lashing capacities depending on the weight and type of load to be secured.
Within Europe, lashing straps must comply with the EN 12195-2 standard, which defines the requirements for load securing on vehicles. The label on the strap contains important information such as the permitted lashing capacity (LC) and standard tension force (STF), allowing users to select the correct strap for their application.
