Lashing chains

Lashing chains, also known as chain binders, are used for securing heavy loads during transport. They provide a strong and reliable solution when lashing straps are insufficient for heavy machinery, steel structures or industrial loads. Thanks to their high tensile strength and robust construction, lashing chains are ideal for applications in transport, construction and industry.

About lashing chains

Lashing chains are generally used together with ratchet binders to tighten the chain securely around the load. Most systems comply with the European EN 12195-3 standard, which defines the safety requirements for load securing with chains.

Depending on the application, lashing chains are available in different diameters, lengths and strength grades. They are often equipped with hooks or shortening hooks so the chain can be connected quickly and safely to lashing points or directly to the load.

GrabiQ Chain Tensioner

The GrabiQ chain tensioner is a premium Grade 100 solution designed for intensive professional use. Thanks to the ratchet tensioning mechanism, the chain can be tightened quickly and ergonomically, even in confined spaces.

This tensioner offers a higher lashing capacity (LC) of up to approximately 10,000 daN (10 tonnes) when used with matching chain. Thanks to the use of Grade 100 material, the capacity is approximately 25% higher than Grade 80 without additional weight.

The chain tensioner complies with the relevant load securing standards, including EN 12195-3, and forms part of the modular GrabiQ system for maximum flexibility and safety.

It's ideal for:

  • Heavy transport and industrial applications
  • Intensive daily use
  • Situations where maximum safety and performance are required

GP Chain Tensioner

This EN 12195-3 compliant chain tensioner is a classic load binder for securing transport loads. The tensioner provides controlled chain tensioning and is equipped with safety features to prevent accidental loosening.

For example, when used with Ø10 mm chain, a lashing capacity of approximately 8,000 kg and a breaking strength of up to 16,000 kg can be achieved.

It's ideal for:

  • Transport and load securing
  • Standard applications
  • Use in combination with lashing chains

Tycan Chain Tensioner

Tycan chain tensioners are designed for the safe and efficient tensioning of lashing chains in transport applications. What makes these tensioners unique is that the chain is made from a high-performance synthetic material instead of steel.

This results in a lightweight, corrosion-free and low-maintenance solution, ideal for applications where traditional steel components are less suitable, such as humid or aggressive environments.

Tycan tensioners comply with the European standard EN 12195-3, making them suitable for safe load securing in accordance with current regulations.

"Ideal for users who want to reduce weight without compromising on safety."

Typical applications:

  • Transport and logistics
  • Use in corrosive or humid environments
  • Load securing where weight reduction is important
