EN 12195-2
are many tools available to secure loads safely. One of the most commonly used is the lashing strap. A lashing strap is a securing device made of synthetic fibres with a tensioning element. It can consist of a single piece or be made up of two parts. The EN 12195-2 standard defines the requirements that lashing straps must meet. It also clearly specifies which information must be indicated on the strap label.
Each strap must be fitted with a durable rectangular label containing the following information:
- Reference to the EN 12195- 2 standard.
- STF (Standard Tension Force): the pre-tension force applied in a straight line.
- SHF (Standard Hand Force): the standard manual force.
- LC (Lashing Capacity): the permitted tensile force in a straight line.
Lashing Capacity (LC) and Standard Tension Force (STF)
The permitted tensile force of lashing straps is indicated on the label.
