The batch codes visible on both the hook body and latch are combined and recorded on the certificate, which can be requested if needed.
Chains are also uniquely marked and fully traceable, with markings applied every 20 links or every metre.
Using the product identification code, each chain and component can be traced back to the material analysis certificate from the supplier. Material certificates are always available on request.
Proof testing
Gunnebo components and chains not only meet industry standards, they exceed them. All components and chains are individually proof tested and undergo magnetic particle inspection (Magnaflux). While many manufacturers rely on sample testing from production batches, Gunnebo performs 100% individual proof testing.
100% individual proof testing is the most effective way to detect inherent material defects that may not visible with magnetic particle inspection or other non-destructive testing methods. It also ensures the material has the correct ductile properties. This is the ability to deform under overload.
